[VISION]  To change the heart and soul of Kenya and the world.

LIFE GROUP- WELCOME!
Welcome to the small group component of your journey of Discovery!  In your small group sessions, you will have a chance to discuss topics related to spiritual growth as well as the eight points of the Fellowship Membership Covenant. In each of our six small group sessions, we will have a short introduction to a topic followed by a section labeled“Encounter.”  The Encounter section is designed for you to review on your own before your group meeting.  There will be scriptures to consider and an opportunity for you to jot down your thoughts.Following the Encounter section is"Explore." These questions are designed to help create a good discussion in your small group time. Next comes the"Engage"section." These questions are more personal, but your group leader may encourage the group to share from this section as well. As questions arise during your small group sessions, don’t hesitate to ask them.  If you are wondering about something, there is a good chance that someone else is wondering too.

"For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. After those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be My people. And they shall not teach everyone his fellow citizen, and everyone his brother, saying,Know the Lord,? for all will know Me, from the least to the greatest of them. For I will be merciful to their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”                  Hebrews 8:10-12

In the Upper Room, Jesus said, This cup is the new covenant made in my blood. This as the new arrangement, the new constitution, from which the life of all who know Jesus will be lived. This is a covenant made between the Father and the Son. It ...

"...who does not need daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the sins of the people, because this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. For the Law appoints men as high priests who are weak, but the word of the oath, which came after the Law, appoints a Son, made perfect forever.” Hebrews 7:27-28

The writer joins two phrases to get the main thought: he offered up himself and, he was made perfect. As a priest, there was no unblemished sacrifice he could offer except himself, so he offered himself. There was found no other priest worthy of offering such a sacrifice, so Christ became both Priest and Victim.

This reminds us of the words of Christ from the cross. In uttering the first three words from the cross, Jesus is a priest: "Father, forgive them, for they ...

"Now if perfection was through the Levitical priesthood (for on the basis of it the people received the Law), what further need was there for another priest to arise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be designated according to the order of Aaron? For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also. For the one concerning whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar. For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests. And this is clearer still, if another priest arises according to the likeness of Melchizedek, who has become such not on the basis of a law of physical requirement, but according to the power of an indestructible life.” Hebrews 7:11-16

One thing clearly marked ...

"For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, saying, I will surely bless you and I will surely multiply you. And so, having patiently waited, he obtained the promise.”

Hebrews 6:13-15

Genesis records that God appeared to Abraham and made him a promise: "Through your seed shall all peoples of the earth be blessed,” (Genesis 22:17-18). The immediate seed was Isaac, born of Abraham's old age; but the ultimate Seed is Christ. It is through faith in Jesus Christ that this promise is fulfilled, and all the peoples of the earth are blessed in Abraham. This promise was later confirmed by an oath, God swearing by himself that he would fulfill what he had said. The writer is simply pointing out that Abraham believed God's promise and his oath.

Why did he believe it? Not because he immediately ...

"It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.” Hebrews 6:4-6

Here is the elaboration of an awful possibility. It is impossible to restore again to repentance these who experience certain Spirit-given blessings, if they shall fall away. The problem of the passage is: How can anyone experience all of this and not be Christian? If he is Christian, how can he fall away, without any hope of restoration? It is over these issues that the battle has waged hot throughout the Christian ages.

Can we take ...
